No Stress is a mobile system preventing children from drowning. Each child worn a No Stress Beacon (as a necklace or a wristband). Parents use their smartphones or a No Stress specific alert device called "the Lighthouse" to monitor their children.
In addition to immersion alert, other alerts exist such as if the necklace is teared away or if the child is subject to strong UV rays during surveillance.
After connection with a Beacon, the smartphone will alert in the following cases :
• under 5 seconds if the child wearing the Beacon is immersed with at least 10 cm of water around him
• under 3 seconds if the Beacon is teared away (necklace/wristband opened)
• under 5 seconds if the child wearing the Beacon goes too far away (more than 40 meters with the smartphone*)
• if the Beacon battery or the smartphone battery becomes too low for proper monitoring
• after 15 minutes of surveillance with UV rays above index 7
GPS data are required for UV index data and are not stored neither used for any other purpose. Continued use of GPS running in the background can dramatically decrease battery life.
*this distance may vary in function of obstacles according to the surrounding environment, the type of smartphone used or the battery level (see rules of good practice in the user guide).
